Traffic Modifications for the Mayor’s Christmas Parade in Hampden

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the temporary street closures and parking restrictions which will be in effect for the Mayor’s 44th annual Christmas Parade.  The parade will be held in Hampden on Sunday, December 3, 2017 starting at 1:00 p.m.

The parade will begin at the intersection of Falls Road and Cold Spring Lane and will travel south along Falls Road, east on W. 36th Street, north on Chestnut Avenue, west on W. 37th Street and north on Elm Avenue to 38th Street where it will disband. 

In preparation for the event, the following streets will be closed on Sunday, December 03, 2017:

  • The Falls Road Exit (Exit 8) from the northbound Jones Falls Expressway from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m.  Motorists are advised to use the Northern Parkway exit.
  • Falls Road from Hillside Road to W. 36th Street – 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • W. 36th Street from Falls Road to Keswick Avenue - 12:45 to 5:00 p.m.
  • Chestnut Avenue from W. 37th Street to W. 34th Street – 12:45 to 5:00 p.m.

During the event, parking will be restricted along the parade route.  In addition, temporary traffic stops may be implemented for the safety of parade participants.  Motorists should be on the watch for pedestrians while traveling in this vicinity and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
