Traffic Modifications for Baltimore Orioles Home Games

This weekend, temporary road closures and parking restrictions will be implemented for the Baltimore Orioles home games against the Tampa Bay Rays at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

Motorists should be advised that all parking restrictions and residential permit parking regulations will be strictly enforced in the vicinity of the stadium.  Patrons who do not have a parking permit for any of the stadium lots are strongly encouraged to use public transportation.  Increased traffic delays should be expected due to the Key Bridge closure.  With a variety of transit options including the Metro Subway, Light Rail, Local Bus, and the Charm City Circulator, fans can easily use mass transit from numerous locations in and around Baltimore.

Baseball fans that drive to the game should utilize commercial parking facilities north of the stadium and avoid parking in area neighborhoods.  Transportation Enforcement Officers will enforce posted parking restrictions and residential permit parking regulations in the vicinity of the stadium.  Vehicles parked in violation will be ticketed and towed.  Motorists with questions concerning the location of their vehicles should call 311.

In preparation for the games, the following streets will be closed on Friday, September 6, 2024, starting at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, September 7th starting at 1:00 p.m., and Sunday, September 8th starting at 9:00 a.m. (times approximate) with detours in effect:

  • Eutaw Street from Pratt to Camden Streets
  • Camden Street from Howard to Russell Streets
  • Hamburg Street from Russell to Leadenhall Streets

In addition, the following parking restrictions will be implemented on Friday, September 6th, Saturday, September 7th, and Sunday, September 8th, 2024, in the vicinity of the stadium:

  • East side of Eutaw Street from Pratt to Lombard Streets
  • North side of Conway Street from Charles to Sharp Streets
  • East side of Greene Street from Lombard Street to Washington Boulevard
  • North side of Pratt Street from Greene Street to Paca Street

Transportation Enforcement Officers will be stationed at key intersections to assist with the movement of traffic in the downtown area.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians, especially when approaching designated crosswalks.

Traffic Modifications for the Charles Street 12 Footrace

This Saturday, temporary traffic modifications will be in effect for the Charles Street 12 Footrace.

The race will kick off at 7:30 a.m. in Baltimore County along Kenilworth Drive in Towson and end in Baltimore City along Key Highway in Locust Point.  Participants will race through Towson and enter the city on N. Charles Street from Stevenson Lane at approximately 8:15 a.m.  The race will proceed south along N. Charles Street, left onto Lee Street, right on Light Street, left on Key Highway, and left on the Key Highway extension to finish at Tide Point in front of the Under Armour facility.  Race participants are expected to complete the course by approximately 10:30 a.m.

In preparation for the event on Saturday, September 7, 2024, one lane of traffic will be coned off for runners along the race route wherever possible with parking restrictions in effect.  Citizens should be advised that temporary traffic stops WILL be implemented along the race route for the safety of participants.

These traffic stops will cause traffic congestion and delays, so motorists are urged to plan for the event by modifying travel times on Saturday morning and using alternate routes away from the race route.  Motorists should also allow additional travel time and be on the watch for pedestrians and traffic control personnel.

The Waze.com app can be downloaded for live detour navigation during the event.
