Traffic Modifications for the Casey Cares Foundation 5K Run

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the traffic modifications that will be in effect for the Casey Cares Foundation 5K Run and Walk which will be held on Saturday, August 05, 2017.  The 5K run starts at 8:00 a.m.

The event will begin on Lee Street near the exit ramp from I-395.  Participants will head east on Conway Street, right on Light Street, and left on Key Highway where they will turn around at Cross Street.   Runners will travel west on Key Highway and turn left on Battery Avenue, right on Montgomery Street and left on Hanover Street.  Participants will then turn right on Hamburg Street, cross over the bridge and turn right between the two stadiums, left on Lee Street, and right on the service drive to the tunnel entrance for Oriole Park at Camden Yards. 

In preparation for the event, one lane of travel will be coned off for participants wherever possible along the race route.  In addition, the following road closures will be implemented on Saturday, August 5, 2017 during the event:

• Key Highway will be closed at Lawrence Street (local access permitted).  Westbound traffic will be detoured onto Fort Avenue.
• Northbound Light Street traffic will be diverted westbound onto E. Hughes Street while runners are turning left onto Key Highway.

Commuters should be advised that temporary traffic stops may be implemented during the event for the safety of participants.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

I-295 Lane Closures

On Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along I-295 for maintenance work.  On Saturday, August 05, 2017, temporary left lane closures will be implemented along northbound and southbound I-295 between Bush Street and the county line from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Saratoga Street Temporary Closure

On Saturday, a portion of Saratoga Street will be temporarily closed for a crane lift operation.  On Saturday, August 05, 2017, Saratoga Street will be closed to through traffic between St. Paul and Charles Streets from 12:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with detours in effect.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

Garrison Boulevard Temporary Closure

On Saturday, a portion of Garrison Boulevard will be temporarily closed for a crane lift operation.  On Saturday, August 05, 2017, Garrison Boulevard will be closed to through traffic between Liberty Heights Avenue and Egerton Road from 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with detours in effect.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

E. Redwood Street Temporary Closure

On Saturday, a portion of E. Redwood Street will be temporarily closed for a crane lift operation.  On Saturday, August 05, 2017, E. Redwood Street will be closed to through traffic between South and Calvert Streets from 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with detours in effect.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

Eastern Avenue Lane Closures

On Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of Eastern Avenue for a crane lift operation.  On Saturday, August 05, 2017, temporary lane closures will be implemented along Eastern Avenue at the intersection of Clinton  Street from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  A flagging operation will be in effect along Eastern Avenue during this time to direct motorists through the work area.

W. Baltimore Street Lane Closures

On Saturday and Sunday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of W. Baltimore Street for a crane lift operation.  On Saturday, August 05 and Sunday, August 06, 2017, temporary lane closures will be implemented along W. Baltimore Street between Freemont and Poppleton Streets from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  A flagging operation will be in effect along W. Baltimore Street during this time to direct motorists through the work area.
