Road Closures for Friday, August 16thThrough Sunday, August 18, 2024

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation (BCDOT) would like to advise motorists of the temporary road closures and traffic modifications for the following activities this weekend.  Please download the Waze.com app for live detour navigation.  All activities are weather permitting and BCDOT is not responsible for providing status updates.
 

Traffic Modifications for Baltimore Orioles Home Games

This weekend, temporary road closures and parking restrictions will be implemented for the Baltimore Orioles home games against the Boston Red Sox at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. 

Motorists should be advised that all parking restrictions and residential permit parking regulations will be strictly enforced in the vicinity of the stadium.  Patrons who do not have a parking permit for any of the stadium lots are strongly encouraged to use public transportation.  Increased traffic delays should be expected due to the Key Bridge closure.  With a variety of transit options including the Metro Subway, Light Rail, Local Bus, and the Charm City Circulator, fans can easily use mass transit from numerous locations in and around Baltimore. 

Baseball fans that drive to the game should utilize commercial parking facilities north of the stadium and avoid parking in area neighborhoods.  Transportation Enforcement Officers will enforce posted parking restrictions and residential permit parking regulations in the vicinity of the stadium.  Vehicles parked in violation will be ticketed and towed.  Motorists with questions concerning the location of their vehicles should call 311. 

In preparation for the games, the following streets will be closed on Friday, August 16, 2024, starting at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, August 17th starting at 4:00 p.m., and Sunday, August 18 starting at 10:30 a.m. (times approximate) with detours in effect: 

  • Eutaw Street from Pratt to Camden Streets
  • Camden Street from Howard to Russell Streets
  • Hamburg Street from Russell to Leadenhall Streets

In addition, the following parking restrictions will be implemented on Friday, August 16th, Saturday, August 17th and Sunday, August 18th, 2024, in the vicinity of the stadium: 

  • East side of Eutaw Street from Pratt to Lombard Streets
  • North side of Conway Street from Charles to Sharp Streets
  • East side of Greene Street from Lombard Street to Washington Boulevard
  • North side of Pratt Street from Greene Street to Paca Street

Transportation Enforcement Officers will be stationed at key intersections to assist with the movement of traffic in the downtown area.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians, especially when approaching designated crosswalks.  
 

Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore Ravens Preseason Game

On Saturday, traffic modifications will be implemented for the Baltimore Ravens Preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons which will be held at M&T Bank Stadium starting at 12:00 p.m.

In preparation for the game, the following road and lane closures will be implemented on Saturday, August 17, 2024, starting at approximately 9:00 a.m.:

  • The Hamburg Street Bridge will be temporarily closed between Leaden Hall and Paca Streets for game ingress.  Once the game begins, the closures will be removed until the start of the fourth quarter for egress.
  • The Ostend Street Bridge will be temporarily closed between Sharp and Warner Streets for game ingress.  Once the game begins, the closures will be removed until the start of the fourth quarter for egress.
  • A special traffic pattern will be temporarily installed along Warner Street between the Ostend Street Bridge and Stockholm Street for ingress and railroad crossings.
  • Special traffic patterns will be installed along Warner Street, Alluvion Street, Worcester Street, and Bayard Street for egress at the start of the fourth quarter.
  • Hamburg Street closure between Hanover and Charles Streets for egress at the start of the fourth quarter.
  • No southbound travel will be permitted along Hanover Street between Henrietta and Hamburg Streets at the start of the fourth quarter for egress.  All traffic will be diverted onto Henrietta Street for east or west bound travels.

Football fans attending the game should be advised that all posted parking restrictions and residential permit parking regulations in the vicinity of the stadium will be strictly enforcedFans that drive to the stadium should park at commercial lots and avoid area neighborhoodsThose who do not have a parking permit for any of the stadium lots are strongly encouraged to use public transportation including the Metro Subway, Light Rail, Local Bus, or Charm City Circulator.  

The Department of Transportation will deploy Transportation Enforcement Officers to assist with the movement of traffic in the downtown area.  Motorists traveling in the vicinity of the stadium should be on the watch for heavy pedestrian/vehicular traffic and possible traffic pattern changes prior to and during this event.
 

Lane Closures for CFG Bank Arena Event

This Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented in the vicinity of the CFG Bank Arena for an arena event.

In preparation for the event, the following lane closures will be implemented from approximately 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 17th until 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 18, 2024:

  • Howard Street left lane closure from Camden to Pratt Streets
  • Lombard Street right lane closure from Hopkins Place to Howard Street 
  • Baltimore Street left lane closure from Howard Street to Park Avenue
  • Pratt Street left lane closure from Eutaw to Howard Streets

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
 

Traffic Modifications for Weekend Activities

This weekend, temporary road and lane closures will be in effect for various activities.

On Saturday, August 17, 2024, the following road closure will be implemented (times approximate):

  • Westbound Waterview Avenue closed between Erick and Potee Streets 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (special event – Big Bounce America).  All westbound traffic will be detoured onto Cherry Hill Avenue.

On Sunday, August 18, 2024, the following road and ramp closures will be implemented (times approximate):

  • Westbound Waterview Avenue closed between Erick and Potee Streets 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (special event – Big Bounce America).  All westbound traffic will be detoured onto Cherry Hill Avenue.
  • North Avenue ramp to the northbound Jones Falls Expressway / I-83 will be closed 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. (graffiti removal)
  • Westbound Northern Parkway ramp to the Jones Falls Expressway / I-83 will be closed 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (graffiti removal)

Motorists traveling in these vicinities should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes. 
 

Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore Farmers' Market

This Sunday, traffic modifications will be in effect for the Baltimore Farmers' Market, which is held under the Jones Falls Expressway along Saratoga Street between Holliday and Gay Streets.

On Sunday, August 18, 2024, the following street and lane closures will be implemented from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with parking restrictions in effect:

  • Holliday Street closed from E. Pleasant Street to E. Saratoga Street
  • Pleasant Street closed at Holliday Street
  • Hillen Street center lane closure between Front Street and Fallsway

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
